June 24, 2022: Proteus, the change and transformation consultancy, is looking to bolster its core consultancy and technology teams as it scales up. The business today announced the appointment of Craig Fenton as Chief Operating Officer alongside seven new additions to its software and consultancy teams across the UK. Further recruitment is planned for the coming months.

After the acquisition of intelligent change delivery platform Sharktower in February 2022, Proteus is committing significant investment both to enhancing the intelligent toolset and the consultancy that underpins its distinct proposition. The arrival of Craig and the team will be instrumental in enacting this plan.

Craig joins Proteus after 30 years’ in the tech sector. Over the years he has gained wide-ranging experience of service management, business IT consulting, ICT programme management and digital transformation. Most recently he was COO at Data Innovation.AI, a technology start-up. Previously he spent 16 years at global consultancy PTS, where he was a partner and part of the management team running UK operations – experience which will prove helpful when shaping Proteus’ growth strategy.

Three new additions join the consultancy practice in response to client demand. Graeme Fleming, a risk assurance specialist joins as Consulting Director from Deloitte where he specialised in tech and digital risk. Senior Consultant Joe Wooley has a background in public sector having worked on national transformation projects for the NHS. Finally, Martin McCann joins as consultant. They further strengthen the team following the arrival of Consulting Director Dan Payne earlier in 2022

As well as expanding the consultancy practice, four new additions join the software team in its Edinburgh office. Kirsty Munro, a highly experienced developer with expertise in streamlining the development process joins as Dev Ops engineer. Graeme Watt, an experienced designer who has worked in UX, UI and product design for over ten years will take responsibility for digital product design and UX as Lead Product Designer. Software engineers, Rose Hissink & Stephen Bradley complete the new line up.

The hunt for talent continues with the business looking to recruit new data analysts and data engineers in the coming months to upweight Proteus’ data team. Many will be based in the Edinburgh office, while others join from across the UK and further afield.

Craig Mackay, CEO of Proteus said: “It’s an exciting time for us all at Proteus. This year is one of scalable growth and proposition development, enabling us to power the wave of change and help organisations become sustainable in change. So it’s great to have Craig and the team on board to help make this vision a reality. We are always looking to attract the brightest and best in tech and change talent. By investing in these excellent new team members we are well placed to strengthen our capabilities, and offer truly innovative solutions and services to our clients.”
